Description
Our Electrical Superintendent will supervise, assist and direct electrical personnel in the day-to-day installation of electrical systems and other related duties. This role involves managing electrical teams, ensuring that projects are completed on time and within budget, maintaining safety standards, and ensuring compliance with relevant codes and regulations. The superintendent will also be responsible for budgeting, scheduling, project planning, and coordinating with other departments to achieve the overall goals of the organization.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities 
  • Project Management: Lead and manage electrical construction projects from start to finish, ensuring timely and successful completion while meeting the client's specifications and requirements.
  • Team Leadership: Supervise and provide guidance to the electrical construction team, including electricians, foremen, and other staff. Ensure effective training and development to build a strong team.
  • Budget & Cost Control: Oversee the department's budget and ensure that projects are completed within the allocated budget. Identify areas for cost savings without compromising safety or quality.
  • Scheduling & Planning: Develop and maintain detailed project schedules, ensuring that milestones are achieved on time. Coordinate with other departments to ensure a smooth workflow and timely project completion.
  • Quality Assurance: Ensure that electrical systems are designed, installed, and tested in compliance with national, local, and industry standards. Ensure high-quality work is delivered on each project.
  • Compliance & Safety: Ensure that all work complies with regulatory and safety requirements. Monitor and enforce strict adherence to safety protocols, conduct site inspections, and resolve any safety issues.
  • Client Relations: Act as the main point of contact for clients on electrical construction projects, providing updates and addressing concerns or issues as they arise.
  • Risk Management: Identify and mitigate potential risks to project timelines, budgets, and safety. Develop contingency plans to handle unforeseen challenges.
  • Contractor Management: Supervise and manage relationships with subcontractors and suppliers to ensure efficient and cost-effective project delivery.
  • Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate records of project progress, including daily logs, reports, and documentation of any issues or changes to the scope of work.
  • Continuous Improvement: Stay up to date with industry trends, new technologies, and best practices in electrical construction. Implement process improvements to enhance department performance.
 
Qualifications
  • At least 7 years of experience in electrical construction, with at least 3 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
  • Certifications: Relevant electrical certifications and licenses (such as Journeyman or Master Electrician, etc.)
  • Skills:
    • Strong knowledge of electrical systems, codes, and standards (NEC, local regulations, etc.).
    • Excellent project management skills, including scheduling, budgeting, and resource allocation.
    • Strong leadership and team management abilities.
    • Effective communication and interpersonal skills to interact with clients, contractors, and team members.
    • Ability to assess and manage risks associated with electrical projects.
    • Proficient in using project management software and other related tools (e.g., Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project, AutoCAD, etc.).
    • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
