Description

The Service Project Manager is responsible for procuring, estimating, managing, and overseeing the completion of mechanical projects from initiation to closeout. This role focuses on nurturing relationships with existing owner-direct clients and managing a diverse range of mechanical project needs.

 

Key Responsibilities

Account Management:

  • Develop and maintain long-term relationships with key service accounts and owner-direct clients.
  • Ensure ongoing client satisfaction by regularly engaging with clients and addressing their service needs.

Estimating:

  • Conduct site surveys and prepare detailed project proposals.
  • Provide accurate cost estimates for projects, ensuring all aspects of the project are covered.

Project Startup:

  • Oversee project setup, buy-out, and leadership.
  • Coordinate with field technicians and project supervisors to ensure smooth field operations.

Purchasing:

  • Issue purchase orders for equipment, materials, and subcontractor services in a timely manner to maintain project schedules.
  • Ensure the procurement process does not delay the overall project timeline.

Scheduling:

  • Develop comprehensive project schedules, detailing required resources and timelines.
  • Coordinate with field superintendents, clients, service technicians, and subcontractors to ensure timely completion of work.
  • Ensure subcontractors are scheduled to meet the requirements of the project scope.

Managing Manpower:

  • Work with service dispatchers and project superintendents to ensure that the appropriate number of workers with the required expertise are assigned to each project.

Accounting:

  • Submit purchase orders and subcontract agreements to accounting promptly.
  • Follow up on unapproved invoices and ensure timely processing.

Quality Management:

  • Ensure that labor and materials meet client specifications and quality standards.
  • Conduct site visits and maintain regular communication with clients to ensure quality control.

Project Closeout:

  • Coordinate final project inspections.
  • Prepare and deliver operation and maintenance manuals to the client.

Required Knowledge and Skills

  • Understanding of HVAC systems layout and design.
  • Knowledge in various install procedures and practices.
  • Familiarity with the construction industry is beneficial.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PDF editing tools.
  • 5 years of experience in project estimating and HVAC Commercial/Industrial related activities is preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with clients, contractors, and subcontractors.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and client relationship management.
  • Able to build and maintain relationships with customers
